Our mission here is to create healthy, low sugar, low grain recipes using our Bliss Nut Butters in an effort to inspire ideas, creativity and healthy lifestyles. In our household, we live a grain-free paleo lifestyle (except of course we use peanuts).  All of the hazelnut recipes are paleo and the peanut butter recipes are meant for a low carbohydrate, high protein, and health conscience diet.

Health and wellness is not just your diet alone, it is a lifestyle.  We like to say that not all fat and calories are created equal.  The components you use to fuel your body are sometime more important than the fat or calorie contents. Keep in mind moderation of course; you can over do just about anything.

We also live an active lifestyle, which is important in this sedentary modern world.  Little amendments to your lifestyle are important. For example, adding 20-30 minutes of movement that will get your heart pumping is always encouraged. Trying standing while in front of the computer instead of sitting. You don’t have to start training for a marathon to start improving your fitness levels.  (Although all of our nut butters are great fuel for the distance athlete.)

Most importantly find happiness, kindness and peace. Cooking is often my time to relax and have fun; most importantly I get to give. We hope you enjoy these recipes, have fun, be healthy and Live Blissfully!

Sunflower and Greens

Sunflower and Greens

Ingredients:
  • 3 tablespoons sunflower butter
  • 2-3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 8 cups salad greens, any variety
  • Salt and pepper
  • 1/2 small fennel bulb, thinly sliced
  • 8 dried figs, thinly sliced
  • 4 strips bacon, cooked till crisp and cut in pieces
Directions:
  1. In a large bowl combine the sunflower butter and vinegar. Whisk to combine.
  2. Add the salad greens to the bowl, along with the fennel and fig, and gently toss.
  3. Divide the salad between 4 plates and top with the crisp bacon.

Sunny and Spicy Cucumbers

Ingredients:
  • 1 cucumber, about 20 slices
  • 4-5 tablespoons sunflower butter
  • Sriracha, to taste
Directions:
  1. Place the cucumber slices on your work Place the cucumber slices on your work surface. Divide the sunflower between surface. Divide the sunflower between the cucumber slices.
  2. Drizzle the slices with the sauce.
Hazelnut-Crusted Salmon

Hazelnut-Crusted Salmon

Ingredients:
  • 4 6-ounces pieces salmon fillet
  • 1 tsp. grape seed or hazelnut oil
  • 2 cloves of garlic, crushed
  • 4 TB. Hazelnut Butter Bliss
  • 1 tsp. of roasted red pepper (optional)
Directions:
  1. Heat oven to 425° F. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on a baking sheet. Drizzle with oil and rub with garlic cloves.
  2. Gently spread each fillet with 1 tablespoon of hazelnut butter. Top with red pepper if desired.
  3. Bake for about 10 minutes or to desired degree of doneness.
Bliss Hazelnut Cranberry-Glazed Squash

Bliss Hazelnut Cranberry-Glazed Squash

Ingredients:
  • 1 Acorn Squash
  • 2 tablespoons Coconut Oil
  • 4 tablespoons Hazelnut Butter with Oregon Dried Cranberries
Directions:
  • Heat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Cut the squash in half lengthwise and scoop out the seeds.
  • Coat the squash with 1 tablespoon coconut oil on each side. Place on a rimmed baking sheet or pan, cut-side up.
  • Bake until tender, 25-30 minutes.
  • Remove from oven and coat each squash half with 1 tablespoon hazelnut butter.
  • Bake for another 5 minutes or until golden brown.
Hazelnut Butter Bliss Baked Pears

Hazelnut Butter Bliss Baked Pears

Ingredients:
  • 2 large pears, sliced in half and cored
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 4 tablespoons Hazelnut Butter Bliss
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey, to taste
  Directions:
  • Heat oven to 375 degrees F.
  • Drizzle pear halves with lemon juice.
  • Divide hazelnut butter between the 4 pear cavities.
  • Drizzle pears with honey.
  • Bake until tender, 25-30 minutes.
  • If hazelnut butter begins to brown too much, cover loosely with foil.
Peanut Butter Bliss Cookies

Peanut Butter Bliss Cookies

Ingredients:   Directions:
  • Mix ingredients together, roll in to small sized balls, roll ball in sugar and press down with fork on un-greased cookie sheet
  • Bake at 375 for 6 minutes, let cool for 3 more minutes on cookie sheet. Serve and eat when cooled.
Thai Chicken with Peanut Butter Bliss

Thai Chicken with Peanut Butter Bliss

Ingredients:
  • 6 pieces of boneless skinless chicken
  • 1/2 can of coconut milk
  • 1 jar of Peanut Butter Bliss
  • 1 tablespoon of sriracha
  • 1/2 cup chopped mushrooms,
  • 1 cup of broccoli florets
  • 3 green onions finely chopped.
  • 1 tsp of red pepper flakes
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
Directions: In a bowl whisk together coconut milk, peanut butter, sriracha, red pepper flakes and salt and pepper. Pre cook chicken by boiling for 7-10 minutes (until done). Put chicken, broccoli onions in casserole dish with a lid, pour sauce over all the ingredients and bake at 375 for 25 minutes.
Nut Butter Smoothie Boost

Nut Butter Smoothie Boost

Ingredients
  • 1 Cup Coconut Milk
  • 1 Banana
  • 3-4 Tablespoons Chia Seed Peanut Butter Bliss
  • Ice or Water
  • Honey
Directions Take coconut milk, banana, Chia Seed Peanut Butter Bliss, and ice or water (for desired consistency). Put all ingredients in your favorite blender or mixer. Pour into glass and drizzle honey on top. Enjoy!
Apple Slices with Bliss Nut Butter

Apple Slices with Bliss Nut Butter

Take one tablespoon of Peanut Butter Bliss and apply to an apple or banana. This is great for pre- or post-workout hunger.
Hazelnut Salad

Hazelnut Salad

Ingredients
  • 2 tablespoons of Hazelnut Butter Bliss
  • 1 tablespoon of pear balsamic vinegar
  • 1/2 tablespoon of hazelnut oil
  • 4 cups assorted greens; spinach, arugula, kale, romaine, chopped
  • 1/4 cup dried cranberries (we like Vincent Family Oregon Cranberries from Oregon)
  • 1/4 cup blue cheese, crumbled
  • 4 strips nitrate free bacon, cooked crisp and chopped (optional)
  • 1 ripe sliced pear as garnish
Directions
  1. In a bowl whisk together top three ingredients.
  2. In a large bowl combine the remaining ingredients, with the exception of the garnish and toss well. Garnish with the pear just before serving.
